Ever noticed the European flag flying above the grand building at Kongens Nytorv and wondered what goes on inside? Visit the European Environment Agency on Science Day! Discover its role within Europe, learn how it uses satellite data to monitor the environment, and meet people from across Europe who work there. Play the “Tragedy of the Commons” game, and enter the Escape Room to uncover environmental challenges and help prevent nature’s collapse.

Play the “Tragedy of the Commons” game

A hands-on simulation of real-world dilemmas where limited resources are overused. Drawing on game theory and environmental economics, it reveals why short-term individual choices can undermine long-term collective well-being.

Experience the CLMS Escape Room

An immersive challenge where you step into the role of an environmentalist, using satellite-based data from the Copernicus Land Monitoring Service to analyse changes in nature, uncover what’s going wrong, and choose the right actions to help prevent environmental collapse.

The day will be held in English
Important: All visitors, i.e. teachers and students, need to bring their ID card or passport. Without this you will not be able to enter the EEA.
You will be served the lunch of the day in the EEA canteen, consisting of a main dish, soup, salad and bread. There is always a vegetarian option for the main dish. Any other specific dietary requirements should be communicated to us by 18 September 2026 at the latest

Det kræver forberedelse hjemme på skolen at deltage i Science Day. Forberedelsen består af følgende aktiviteter:

Det er vigtigt, at I taler sammen inden besøget og afstemmer forventninger til hinanden og dagen, ligesom der kan være praktiske detaljer, som skal på plads. Undervisningspakken indeholder øvelser og oplæg til diskussion på klassen. Afsæt to lektioner i uge 39 eller 40 – før Science Day. Undervisningspakken indeholder også podcastserien ‘Min vej’, hvor fem unge fortæller om deres veje og omveje til uddannelse og job. Inddrager du podcastserien, skal du afsætte mere end to lektioner.
